This year’s celebration for the International Day of Music is unique. In addition to an outpouring of song from global artists, there’s a 24-hour livestream of USA-based music scheduled. It’s a one-of-a-kind, day-long show!
This 24-hour livestream will be hosted inside the original farmhouse located on old Yasgur’s Farm in upstate New York.
Here’s the backstory: In 1969, Max Yasgur, a dairy farmer from New York, stepped forward to host the Woodstock Music & Art Fair. His kind act saved one epic show. Woodstock’s creative team had just been outed from its previously scheduled venue in Woodstock, New York. To overcome the setback seemed impossible. However, Yasgur’s friendly disposition changed the future of music festivals and entertainment. His frank gesture of support landed his farm—where half a million people enjoyed 3+ continuous days of great music—a treasured place in American history.
Today, Jeryl Abramson, a music lover, owns Yasgur’s original homestead. She supports music and operates the Yasgur Road Campground. Click for details: www.yasgurroadcampground.com .
